Last night was the last graffiti class! It was a blast. We met at Brookland Artspace and Lofts, a multi-use facility with residential and studio space for artists and their families.
First we warmed up with crayons and paint markers on paper, then we made our own “tags,” or graffiti personal signatures, on canvas boards.
For the latter half of class, we went outside to practice with spray-paint cans on cardboard and wooden boards set up to form a temporary wall. Our instructor, Rajan, demonstrated how to make different lines and effects.
It was exciting to learn about this unique and relatively new art form. Rajan taught with clear enthusiasm and talent. If you’re interested in learning more about Rajan and his art – or even taking one of his graffiti classes – check out his website, http://www.artjar.com/
